Excessive Heat Warning
The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch across large portions of Eastern Washington and Oregon, including Walla Walla County. The watch is in effect from Friday, July 5th through Tuesday, July 9th.

Cooling Center

Please note, this cooling center is not a Walla Walla County Department of Community Health Operated Program. 

First Congregational Church will open a voluntary cooling center when temperatures exceed 105°F for at least two consecutive days, and nighttime temperatures do not fall below 75°F. 


The cooling center will be open the following dates:
Saturday, July 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.






 
Beat the Heat
Please note, these locations are not designated cooling centers. Hours and availability may vary, and admission fees may apply. There are several locations throughout Walla Walla County where residents can go to escape the heat when temperatures do not meet Cooling Center Activation temperatures: 

Walla Walla
College Place
Waitsburg
Prescott
These locations are not incorporated and do not have Parks & Rec Programs: 

Burbank/Wallula
Touchet

Heat related illnesses, like heat exhaustion and heatstroke can be damaging for your health. By preparing for periods of extreme heat, taking proper precautions during periods of extreme heat, and recognizing signs of heat related illness, we can all take action to protect ourselves.
