Group B Public Water Systems
In general, systems that serve between 3-10 connections and some single connections that need licensing need to go through the process of converting a well into a public water system. The Walla Walla County Department of Community Health can approve any group B water systems.Below are the design workbook and guidelines. An engineer with knowledge of designing public water system needs to complete the workbook. A $500 workbook review fee is required for all systems that wish to become public water systems.
Group A Public Water Systems
In general, systems that serve 10 or more residential connections or 25 or more people a day are regulated by the Washington State Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water at (509) 329-2100.
